The Ighalo Systems is seeking a highly experienced AWS Mentor to join our team on a part-time, remote contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a cloud professional who’s passionate about mentoring and guiding students new to cloud computing and AWS technologies.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Between 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST (time may vary within this window)
About the Role:
As an AWS Mentor, you will help students new to cloud computing learn foundational AWS skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for industry-recognized certifications. Your real-world insights and mentoring will help students build practical confidence and prepare them for roles in cloud administration, DevOps, or architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor students who are new to AWS and cloud technologies
- Break down core AWS services and architectures for beginner-level learners
- Guide students through hands-on labs, projects, and real-world scenarios using AWS
- Help students prepare for certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Provide support with cloud fundamentals including IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Share practical use cases, cost optimization tips, and best practices for secure and scalable cloud deployments
- Review student work, provide feedback, and answer questions during live or asynchronous sessions
- Mentor students on cloud career paths, portfolio development, and interview preparation
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, solutions architecture, DevOps, or related field
- Deep hands-on experience working in the AWS ecosystem
- Must hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional certification
- Other preferred certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS Security Specialty or Advanced Networking Specialty
- Proficiency in:
- AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, Route 53, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
- Serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB)
- Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Automation & Scripting (Bash, Python)
- Monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK, Datadog)
- Experience designing secure, cost-optimized, highly available cloud architectures
- Excellent communication and teaching skills, with a passion for making cloud concepts accessible
- Availability on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST
